Father’s Day is right around the corner (June 20). Although babies don’t come with an Owner’s Manual, Dr. Todd Cartmell provides some great wisdom in his latest book, ‘Project Dad: The Complete Do-It-Yourself Guide for Becoming a Great Father.’

Here is the synopsis of this book:

What does it take to build a great dad? Men like to build things. We like to take parts and put them together to make a whole. Did you know that this do-it-yourself talent can help you become a great dad?

In his fresh, humorous style, Todd Cartmell takes you on an action-packed journey to help you become the dad God made you to be and that your kids hope you will be. You will learn the five key areas that every great dad needs to renovate, including how you look at, talk to, connect with, act toward, and lead your children.

Cartmell shows you that you already have the raw materials at your disposal, then gives you the blueprint for putting them together. Begin your Project Dad today. Your family will never be the same.

Here is the biography of this author:

Dr. Todd Cartmell received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He completed his postdoctoral training at Wright State University and the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Cartmell works exclusively with children, adolescents, and families and specializes in the treatment of oppositional behavior, depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity, and a wide variety of other childhood and adolescent disorders.

The author of several books, including Project Dad, Respectful Kids, and Keep the Siblings-Lose the Rivalry, Dr. Cartmell is a popular workshop speaker and regularly speaks on parenting issues throughout the country.  Currently practicing in Wheaton, Illinois, Dr. Cartmell and his wife, Lora, have two sons.

Dr. Cartmell’s book has five sections:

1.    Your Eyes – How You Look at Your Children
2.    Your Mouth – How You Talk to Your Children
3.    Your Heart – How You Connect with Your Children
4.    Your Hands – How You Act toward Your Children
5.    Your Feet – How You Lead Your Children

Project Dad is a humorous and practical guide book written by a dad to other dads. Todd Cartmell’s warm and engaging style will have fathers laughing from the first few pages, and gives doable hands-on advice for becoming a better dad. This book will make an excellent Father’s Day gift!
