Advent Verses from the Common English Bible - Luke 2:10-12 + Bible Giveaway!

Here is today’s Bible passage for Advent as part of my participation in the “Thank You – Come Again – I Promise” blog tour for the new Common English Bible translation.

Friday – Luke 2:10-12

v Luke 2:10-12 (CEB): The angel said, “Don’t be afraid! Look! I bring good news to you – wonderful, joyous news for all people. Your savior is born today in David’s city. He is Christ the Lord. This is a sign for you: you will find a newborn baby wrapped snugly and lying in a manger.

I’m able to offer my readers a free copy of the softcover edition of the Common English Bible for each week of the blog tour (which runs through January 31, 2012)!

For this week, please leave a message at the first blog post (the link is here) letting me know which verse in the Bible you are most interested in reading in the new Common English Bible version. Please leave your email address also, so I can contact you to get your mailing address.

The deadline to enter for this week will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:59 pm ET. The winner will be chosen from all entries by the Random Number Generator on Sunday, December 4, 2011. All the best to you!

  1. hi Andrea,

    you listed several sites on an amazon review which unfortunately have the urls blocked out, it seems. It's for Reema Goode's book. English language sites for Christians:
    * [...] - praying through the Arabic Peninsula
    * [...] - personal stories of believers from Muslim backgrounds
    * [...] - FAQs answered
    * [...] - information on training seminars for evangelism and discipleship

    Arabic sites for interested Muslims and believers from Muslim backgrounds:
    * [...] - contains Arabic Bibles in different formats
    * [...] - shares personal stories of believers from Muslim backgrounds
    * [...] - Arabic audio and video teaching; Daring Questions program)

    I don't suppose you could give me those urls? It's alot to ask. this is a topic i am very interested in, and I have lived in the country Goode's book was set in. Would like to go and "work" there.
